Marcus is a RICHARD RODGERS AWARD-winning bookwriter and lyricist, a NAMT FESTIVAL Winner, and the recipient of a NAMT WRITERS RESIDENCY GRANT.

His work has been produced at the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, London’s Charing Cross Theater, The Segal Centre in Montreal, Central Park’s Swedish Cottage Marionette Theater, and in theaters across the US as part of a Theaterworks USA Children’s Theater Tour.

He has been a member of the BMI Workshop, the JOHNNY MERCER SONGWRITERS WORKSHOP, and the ASCAP WORKSHOP. His collaborators to date include Joe Kinosian, Bree Lowdermilk, Sam Willmott and Oran Eldor.
