Marcus has written scripts for and directed the acclaimed Saturday afternoon concert series made famous by conductor, composer, and educator Leonard Bernstein. His most recent contributions were for the concert THE FUTURE IS ORCHESTRA.
WAKE UP, DAISY!
Very loosely adapted from “Sleeping Beauty,” Wake Up, Daisy! is another whimsical collaboration between Marcus and Yo, Vikings! collaborator Sam Willmott. The show was commissioned by Central Park's historic SWEDISH COTTAGE MARIONETTE THEATRE, featuring rod puppets and marionettes with ten-foot strings, and a wholly original score. It ran for an unprecedented 22 months.
LIVE AND LET SPY
Super spy Agent Quinn has been kidnapped and it’s up to a group of fellow agents to try and come to the rescue – while working from home! This show was commissioned by THEATERWORKS USA and written with Murder For Two writer, Joe Kinosian, for schools and youth theater groups to perform in virtual spaces.
HANNUKKAH MURRAY
Marcus Stevens and frequent collaborator, Sam Willmott, teamed up to write a new song for the 2023 installment of 54 CELEBRATES HANUKKAH: A FESTIVAL OF WRITERS and had the great joy of premiering and performing it together.
